Be a Successful Conference Call

Conference calls may be one of the most excruciating experiences for non-native English speakers. Personally, as a native English speaker, I often have difficulty understanding participants due to a number of factors: Sound quality, subject matter, number of participants, and effective leadership during the call.

Articulate and speak slowly and comfortably. Try to remove all unnecessary noise from your oral communication. For example, make a conscious effort to eliminate "Uh", "Right", "Uh-huh", "Um", "Like", and "You know". Those words may confuse non-native English participants.
Slow down the communication process. Pause between ideas (every 3 to 5 sentences) to give non-native speakers an opportunity to understand before continuing.
Be proactive. During the call, regularly remind participants that they may ask for clarification. Tell them that it is important to you that they understand. Give them permission to ask for clarification.
After important points and at the end of each topic, ask everyone, "Is that comprehensible?", "Was I comprehensible?", or "What questions do you have?"
Do not rush into the next topic. Be sure to give at least 30 seconds between topics for questions and clarification. At the end of each topic, rephrase important details and actions, even if participants do not ask for clarification.
Be an effective conference call leader. A leader ensures that comprehension is a priority. Leaders do not focus on the agenda, data, or action plans. They concentrate on creating a communication-friendly environment for everyone to appreciate and enjoy. How can a native English speaker expect a non-native speaker to participate or follow directives if he/she has trouble understanding? Of course, the minutes of the meeting often follows the call. However, productive and rewarding relationships are at stake. If there is little or no comprehension during a call, then non-native participants may as well not participate. They may feel alienated and understand more from the written minutes.

An effective leader guarantees that every participant articulates and speaks slowly
An effective leader guarantees that participants actively ask for clarification
An effective leader guarantees that participants understand by clarifying important details and actions at the end of each topic
An effective leader guarantees that if there is background noise, the call is put on hold until the noise is removed
An effective leader guarantees that there is feedback at the end of the call to see how communication could be improved during the next call

Strange But True

Think you know everything about the human body? Check out some bizarre facts you didn’t learn in anatomy class.

The human brain is the world’s most powerful computer. When it comes to sheer computational strength, today’s state-of-the-art processors are still no match for the human mind. The average brain has a storage capacity of about 100 terabytes, while the typical PC offers only a fraction of that, about 100 gigabytes.
The human body has roughly 60,000 miles of blood vessels. The body’s blood vessels, which include the arteries, veins, and capillaries, would be 60,000 miles long if they were laid out end to end. That’s approximately the distance you’d need to travel if you wanted to circle the globe two and a half times.
The human nose can remember 50,000 different scents. Although you’d probably never want to recall that many aromas, it’s nice to know that your nose is doing its job. That said, you shouldn’t be too impressed—humans have about 5 million odor receptors, while dogs, depending on the breed, may have more than 220 million

Accept Who You Are

So, you've been trying to change yourself, and you've decided you might as well give up, but you aren't sure how. So, here you go. Hope this helps...
Realize that you aren't going to change anything by putting yourself down. It won't help you accept who you are, it will only make you fall head over heels in depression.
Let go of your flaws. Everyone has them. Don't feel bad.
Build up your self confidence. Don't stay in your room. Get out and about.
Do something that you've always wanted to do, but haven't for some reason. If you want to take ballet, and you've been afraid that someone will tease you, go, shoot for the stars. If you've wanted to ask that girl/guy out, but don't want to be teased over it, who cares? You can go out with whoever you want to.
Don't listen to anyone that puts you down. You are you. They can think what they want. Right?
Try to do your best in everything. Just let go of fear in general.
Find a way to express yourself. Whether it be dance or scripts...
"The only thing we have to fear is fear itself."
Be assertive.
Change negative thoughts into Positive thoughts.

Dress Fashionably

Ever wonder how certain people always look put together? It's because they're dressing fashionably and have their own sense of style! By following these steps, you can be on your way to having a fantastic, fashionable wardrobe.

Organize: Get out all your clothes and decide which ones you want and don't want. Throw out everything that you haven't worn in a year (that isn't seasonal), doesn't fit anymore or is plain ugly! Donate it all to a charity or a second hand store. Your trash could be someone else's treasure!
  • Flatter: Look at yourself in the mirror and as objectively as possible, pick things about your physical appearance you like and dislike. What do you want to disguise? What do you want to emphasize? What's your body type?
  • Style: What do you like? Do you want to incorporate trendy items into your wardrobe, or do you prefer a classic look? Spend time flipping through catalogs, or surfing websites that feature clothes. Do you even want to figure out a way to incorporate witty T-shirts, or is pleather more your style? There are tons of different pieces that will look phenomenal on you- what do you like?
  • Context: Where you live, where you go and what you do are major factors in dressing fashionably! If you wear a ball gown to the office that's not fashionable; if you wear a business suit to the prom, likewise. Think about what kind of clothing is appropriate for the things you're going to be doing.
  • Shop: The best thing to do is to buy long-lasting pieces that will retain their class throughout seasons. Fashion changes extremely quickly! Don't fill your wardrobe with things that won't be appropriate the same time next year, and don't spend a lot of money on fashion items. Think about step 4 again. What kinds of coats, jackets or sweaters do you need? Put this kind of information in the context of what flatters your body.
  • Shop more: Now that you've got the basics, it's time to have fun! Buy some great shoes, cute accessories and get a haircut! No need to go classic here unless that's your taste- handbags, shoes and jewelry is the place to show your sassy side. Bright purple pleather trench looks too tacky? A handbag in the same style will be fantastic.
    • Flick through magazines and find a style icon you can be inspired by. Stars need to always look good as they are constantly followed! Some good choices are people like Mischa Barton, Kate Moss and Hilary Duff.
    • Try places like bargain stores and emporiums for jewelry; they have great stuff for great prices!
    • Go shopping with an honest friend! Nothing is more valuable in your quest for a fashionable wardrobe than someone who will tell you when you look stupid.
    • Make-up is the thing that pulls it all together. Don't look fake, just polished. You can make a huge stride towards being more pulled-together by just applying foundation, blush (or bronzer) and lip gloss.
    • Be you! If you like something but someone else doesn't, don't fret. They have no right to say what you can and can't like. Remember your honest friend, though. There's a difference between something that fits you horribly and something that's just a difference in style.
    • Ask friends for style advice and for their style perspective.
    • Confidence is key. If you don't have confidence, nobody will admire your look. You have to believe in yourself, then everybody else will too.
    • Don't ever wear something that doesn't make you feel beautiful. If you feel uncomfortable, everyone can see that. Being fashionable is being confident.
    • Do NOT try to co-ordinate your makeup to your outfit. It sounds like a good idea, but it's not. Although, try to use make up in a way that connects your make up colors with your outfit. Example: Pink top, jeans, pink shoes. So, Pink make up.
    • Clothes do not look cooler the more you show your skin. It's fine to show some skin, but clothes do not have to have plunging v-neck necklines or be midriff bearing to be attractive. Leave something to the imagination.

Find Your Self Or Someone Else

To find yourself you must be yourself. Your understanding of life will not complete you. Only you through God`s guidance can achieve the limits of your mind.

It takes a lot to do this. First of all you can be alone or if not you must have someone that is really close to you in spirit but at the same time you cant let them get in the way of your search. If you get distracted easily it would be best if you don’t take anyone. It’s a walk for you not to talk to someone. In fact if you do take someone along they need to do the same thing your doing but in their OWN way.
It also requires you to get away from where you hang out. Away from your house, school or perhaps the city. To embrace yourself you must not be around the stuff that gave you your knowledge. Knowledge is a good thing but being smart isn’t being happy. You must gain your own wisdom. It’s best to pray before you go on this journey.
If you feel close to someone and you want to take them along that’s fine. You have to stay focused though. You can’t just get half way and say, “Oh this is boring.” It`s best to be used to long walks.
It’s best to bring a Bible along with you. Even if you don’t believe in God it does have information about this topic from many real people. It has understanding that will fit you perfectly and plus God really does talk to people like you.
If you do bring a friend along make sure they are committed to you full heartedly. If they back down half way you will have to leave them behind so its best you tell them what your doing. A boyfriend or girlfriend or perhaps a best friend. If done right it will change your life and bring you a deep understanding. You must know how everything in the world works in order to survive. At the same time separate yourself from all you know and the world you know. What you know now won`t guide you as needed.
It takes deep thought to gain wisdom and control in your life. To embrace wisdom you must embrace yourself. This is a good thing for relationships as well. Friends can do it together or people that have had trouble in a relationship and want help. If you love someone you stick beside them even if sometimes you can`t stand them. Its best you go ahead and find each other even if it takes a whole week of doing so. In fact take as much time as you need. When you feel complete then you'll know its over.
Balance of mind is important. To achieve this you must first balance yourself in your heart. I’ve heard time and time again that it is impossible to correct problems that you have with the person you love. If you LOVE them you'll do anything for them.
If you have not found someone yet then you need to wait. Its like having sex for the first time. People say find someone to give you self too. Well people these days no longer believe in that. It’s now a pleasure thing or something. You have to do this with someone you KNOW in your heart they are God Sent.
The best place to do this is probably in the mountains. Use them to isolate you and your love. It takes more than talking too. Its like in math class... if you don’t know what the teacher is talking about and don’t ask when the test comes around you wont know squat because you didn’t ask when it was being taught. Ask him/her about things. Anything. If they love you they will trust you. This is not something to be doing once either. If possible it needs to be done if your household is falling apart. It will start to more than once so you will have to do this more than once. Thanks for your time and I hope I have helped you. I really do want to help people. I have my entire life and this has changed people.
Do it with a complete goal. Your goal is to gain wisdom not to get super smart. If you are trying to become smart you need to stop and think about not what you know but what you know about yourself. If you have a differnet understanding about this topic feel free to explain. When wisdom is found in yourself it can be approved by the wisdom of others.

    • Get away from where you hang out at.
    • Keep Isolated.
    • If its a relation issue bring your partner (friendship or loved one).
    • Be honest with yourself or another.
    • Do not do this half way. If you do theres a chance that youll back down the next time you do it.
    • They are no dangers in this. Just be honest with yourself, God and a loved one if its the issue.
    • Pray before you do this!

    • Bring food and drinks.
    • If you a guy and you bring a girl don't let her carry the stuff. YOU CARRY IT!!!

    Avoid breaking Your Headphone

Constantly breaking your headphones? Headphones not sounding great even though you can remember doing anything wrong to them? Here a few a simple things to keep your headphones producing good music....

    Steps

    Turn your music down!

Not only is loud music likely to ruin your headphones, additionally, it is really bad for your eardrums.
Do not use tiny headphones on a stereo that isn't designed for them. There is a possibility that the power applied to the headphones will be too great for the headphones to handle.
Avoid sharp pulls on the headphone cord. This will pull the wires out of their holders over time, making them unusable.Avoid letting the earphones dangle or spin them. The centripetal forces will damage the delicate electronics in them, and will ruin the sound quality.Don't put them in water.
Don't tangle the cord up. This may lead to knots which can potentially pinch the wires and break them.

    Tips
    • Buy a case for your headphones if possible. This will keep them free of tangles and any physical damage.
    • When buying headphones, looks for ones which have some sort of strain relief (this is a flexible comb of plastic on the end of the connectors). This can help to prevent you pulling the wires out of the headphones.
    • If your stereo or MP3 player has a Volume Limiting System, use it. It will prevent you from damaging your hearing and prolong the life of your headphones
    • Choose carefully when buying headphones. Sometimes the cheapest headphones are not the best and are more likely to break. Buy a good, recognized brand, and they should last for a long time.

    Warnings
    • Listening to loud music for prolonged periods of time will permanently damage your hearing.
    • If someone else can hear the music from your headphones, it means you have an open headphone. Normally, in an enclosed headphone nobody can hear your music. But, if you have an closed headphone and someone can listen, it's too loud.

    Cherry Season

This is a bing cherry. My favorite cheery . Usually sweet and juicy. I can eat a bowl of it a day. There are several kind of cherries, rainee cherry, bing cheery which I really like and I forgot the rest. I post some more about cheries when I remmeber the rest.

The Northwest Cherry season is just around the corner. Blossoms throughout the 5-state growing region have been pollinated by honey bees and the cherries are starting to develop. A cool spring provided a natural blossom thinning which will lead to excellent quality and size in the comie so that the tree can devote more nutrients to develop each cherry into the large, swng year. When a cherry tree's blossoms are thinned, less fruit is left on the treeet summer treats for which the Northwest is famous. Although they have a long way to go, the warm, sunny summer days and cool nights have been providing the perfect conditions for the development of the 2008 cherry crop. Whether you enjoy eating them out of hand, tossing them with your favorite summer salad, adding them to a classic entree or incorporating cherries into a delicious dessert, get ready for another summer season of sweet health. Northwest Cherries are almost here.

    Walking In The Moment

OK, time for my daily walk. Here I go. Now, what do I need to pick up at the store for dinner tonight? Let's see, the deadline for that big work project is Thursday.

While you walk, is your mind racing through a never ending to-do list or chronicle of worries. There's a better strategy. Its called mindful walking . and it can turn your daily stroll into a way to relax and re-energize. As you walk, you can focus your attention on the moment to moment experience of walking.

Any types of walking can help you manage your weight, decrease your risk of heart disease and diabetes , and increase your aerobic fitness. mindful walking can also: Help you relax, you give your mind a break from processing dozens of thoughts at once.
Teach you to begin to approach life with more mind full attitude. You can learn to carry this kind of focused thinking into the rest of your day.

Make your next walk to a new mood-enhancing experience.

Start with a moment of stillness. Before you take one step, set the goal of taking focused walk. Give your mind a moment to slow down.

Connect your mind and body. As you walk, consciously feel the motion of the weight transferring from the hill to a ball of foot. Feel muscles in your calves and thighs working. Bend you arms and take on a gentle swinging motion. Aim for a fluid, consistent stride and enjoy its rhythm.
Breath. Follow each breath in and out. Focusing on breathing can help you stay in the moment. Experience your surrounding. Perhaps you smell the bloom of lilacs, feel a gentle breeze on your forehead, or hear children playing nearby. Recognized it's experience. Mind your thoughts. If an unwanted thoughts pops into your head, recognize it and then let it float away. Don't react to or judge the thought. Simply refocus your attention on your body motion, your surrounding and breathing

After you walk, take a moment to reflect. What sights and sounds did you see and hear. How did your body feel? Resolve to bring this expanded awareness into the rest of the day- and into tomorrows walk.

    Secrets All mens Keep

Conventional wisdom holds that men are simple creatures, whose needs and desires can be handily pegged. There's just one catch: Guys often prefer to keep quiet about their health concerns and problems. To promote better communication (and better health), it's important to encourage the men in your life to open up, but don't be surprised if they're reluctant to share the following secrets.

I'm in pain.Men are half as likely as women to go to the doctor for preventive-care visits. And additional evidence shows that even when they sense that something might be wrong with them, fear and embarrassment often stop them from seeking medical attention.Men wait at least a few days to see if they feel better first. Unfortunately, nearly 30 percent of men take procrastination to the extreme, waiting "as long as possible" before seeking treatment.
I'm stressed out. With a failing economy, an energy crisis, and global warming looming, it's no wonder that both men and women are feeling a bit frazzled these days. But a Canadian study found that women report these feelings of stress more often than men do. The problem is, harboring unhealthy amounts of tension can lead to back pain, ulcers, and-most especially for men-heart disease.

I have erectile dysfunction. 30 million men in the United States will experience erectile dysfunction (ED) at some point in their lives. The good news? With the popularity of new medications and the understanding that ED can have both physical and emotional causes, men have become increasingly more open to talking about this problem.

I'm depressed. Men suffering from a depressive disorder at about 6 million. Guys are usually more willing to admit symptoms of fatigue and loss of interest in activities they once enjoyed than they are to acknowledge feelings of sadness or guilt.

I'm losing my hair. It's a condition that many men can quite literally keep under their hats. About 35 million American men have androgenetic alopecia, also known as male pattern baldness, which can be passed down through the mother's or father's genes and can start anytime after puberty, when the level of androgen in the bloodstream rises.

I don't like the way I look. A quarter of the male population in the United States is on a diet at any given time. And of the 8 million Americans who suffer from eating and body-image disorders, 1 million of them are men. Another growing concern among health professionals: the increase in incidences of muscle dysmorphia, in which a person is consumed by the fear of having a petite, underdeveloped build and therefore compensates by exercising excessively or taking muscle enhancers such as steroids.

I'm scared. The face of a fear-inducing scenario, men reacted less emotionally than women did. When feelings of fear get out of control, as it does in an anxiety disorder such as social phobia, guys may be more likely to self-medicate with alcohol or drugs.

China's EarthQuake - Days Of Disaster

Hampered by poor weather (at least for the first day or two) and the blocking of mountain roads by landslides, Chinese troops have been struggling to rescue thousands of people buried in rubble and to bring aid to stricken communities across a wide area of the southwest on the edge of the Tibetan plateau. Three days after the disaster, officials put the number of dead at around 20,000, most of them in Sichuan Province north of the provincial capital, Chengdu. With many trapped, the toll could reach 50,000, the government said.In contrast with neighbouring Myanmar's lethargic and secretive handling of its cyclone ten days earlier, China responded to the earthquake rapidly and with uncharacteristic openness. Within hours Mr Wen was on a plane, President Hu Jintao was chairing an emergency meeting of the Politburo's Standing Committee and thousands of soldiers and police were being dispatched. After an initial deployment of 5,000 troops the number was ramped up to 100,000 within three days. The official media, often reticent about reporting bad news, rapidly updated casualty numbers. State-owned television provided non-stop coverage.

During China's second-deadliest natural disaster of recent years, flooding along the Yangzi River that killed thousands in 1998, officials barred foreign journalists from some affected areas and failed to update casualty figures for two weeks, before providing suspiciously low numbers. Even this year the government was slow to respond to a snow disaster that affected much of south and central China in January. It expelled foreign journalists from Tibetan-inhabited areas (including the part of Sichuan now worst affected by the earthquake) after an outbreak of anti-Chinese unrest in March.

Of course, covering up was not an option. China measured the earthquake at a magnitude of 7.8, a force so powerful that it sent panicky office workers running into streets as far away as Beijing, 1,500km (930 miles) to the north. But China's leaders are anxious to repair the public-relations damage they have suffered internationally as a result of the Tibet crisis. And they are keen to avoid the kind of criticism directed at Myanmar.

Foreign reporters have been allowed into affected areas without hindrance by officials. China welcomed foreign aid in the form of material and cash. Japan said it was sending an earthquake team. President Hu discussed the disaster in a telephone conversation with George Bush and thanked him for American offers of help. Amid nationwide shock at the scale of the disaster, a recent upsurge of anti-Western sentiment triggered by events in Tibet appears to be abating.Since March no Politburo member has publicly visited Tibet. Comforting earthquake victims, however, presents few political risks.

Mr Wen has remained at the scene to direct relief operations. Chinese television showed residents muttering “Thank you, prime minister, thank you,” after he declared to one group that thousands of troops and police had been deployed. Some victims are angry, but their resentment is directed at local officials rather than the central authorities.

In Dujiangyan, a large town about 50km from the epicentre, a woman in her 50s complains that while some buildings collapsed, the government and party headquarters remained intact. “Corruption and supervision of construction work is a problem, a very big problem,” says another resident. “I hope they learn a lesson from this.” Even the state-owned media have said shoddy construction may have exacerbated the impact. Casualties at schools have been high, partly because many were in classrooms when the earthquake struck in the early afternoon, but partly too, parents suspect, because they were badly built.

Hundreds of children were buried at Dujiangyan's Xinjian Elementary School, where a four-storey building collapsed like a pack of cards. One young woman, whose son had been killed at the school, was frantically trying to find out where his body had been taken. At one point she stood in front of an ambulance, sobbing and demanding information. Police came and took her gently aside and told her they would try to find the name of the morgue. Several ambulances plied to and from the site, but the official media have reported the rescue of only 50 or so children. Mr Wen watched two of them being pulled from the rubble and wept at the sight.

How To Get Over the Loss of a Best Friend

Everyone will lose a friend in there lives. Here are things to learn what to do, and how to feel better.

After being hurt or let down by your best friend, try to talk to him/her. Ask them why they have done this, talk to them like an adult.
If they decide not to listen to you, turn to your real friends. Ask for guidance and support from them. They'll help you through your situation.
Sleep on it for a couple of days, thinking about how you can sort out your life and make the best decisions for your situation.
Make new friends. Talk to new people. People you either have never spoken to before, or people you aren't very close to. Just any person in general. You'll soon find new friends.
Make sure your friendships are special and real. Anything fake can end easily and abruptly.

Don't feel like you're the only one that matters in the world. So many other people have been through this all.
Be safe. Don't do anything that you'll regret.
Don't try to get back at/blame anyone. Its usually nobodies fault.
Try and stay calm and don't get stressed. This will only make matters worse.

    Are You Obsessed With Revenge

Many of us have dreamt of wielding revenge on someone who's wronged us—an ex, our boss, an irritating neighbor. But in real life, retribution isn't always all it's cracked up to be. In fact, letting go of revenge fantasies may be one of the best things you can do for your health.

For certain people—especially some men—revenge can be all-consuming. A University College of London study found that men not only expressed more desire for retribution than women; they also derived more satisfaction from it.

Could you be preoccupied with payback? If you answer yes to any of these questions, you probably are.

•You find out that one of your friends has been talking about you behind your back. Would you start spreading rumors about them?
•Your mate breaks up with you. Would you rub poison ivy on the clothes they left at your place before returning them?
•You get passed over for a promotion. Would you try to sabotage the person who got the position you wanted?
•Your neighbor’s dog barks all night, keeping you awake. Would you pour weed killer all over their lawn?

    Best Tips That Moms Give

Remember all those times your mom told you to go to bed early and eat your breakfast? You might not have wanted to admit it back then, but as it turns out, she was right—
about almost everything. This Mother's Day, check out this best pieces of advice that moms give. Or better yet, slip them into your mom's card this year, as proof that she was correct all along.

As it turns it, it might be Mother, not Father, who knew best.

Wash your hands. Washing your hands is one of the best ways to prevent illness and stop the spread of germs. Be sure to cleanse thoroughly with warm water and soap for at least 20 seconds every time.
Button up. How many times did your mom tell you to button your coat or zip up your jacket as a kid? She had a good reason: Cold weather stresses the immune system, making you more susceptible to infection.
Eat your vegetables. Numerous studies have confirmed that a diet rich in vegetables can strengthen your immune system and reduce your risk of developing heart disease, stroke, obesity, diabetes, and even some cancers.
Turn off the TV. Studies have shown that there's a direct link between TV watching and low literacy rates, obesity, and a sedentary lifestyle. Some experts also believe that TV promotes violent behavior and high-risk activities.
Stop touching your face. Not only does touching your face increase your risk of getting sick; it can also lead to acne, no matter how old you are. When you touch your face, the bacteria on your hands transfers to the new surface. From there, bacteria settle in your pores and create blemishes.

    Strangest Beauty At All time

It's often said that beauty is pain--and for a few adventurous souls, the pursuit of beauty can be weird, wacky, and downright dangerous. The unconventional tips they follow? Some may be familiar (dabbing toothpaste on a pimple), while others are simply disturbing (plumping lips via vacuum cleaner).

Use Pepto-Bismol to clear up your complexion. Enthusiasts claim this drugstore staple is more effective at blasting blemishes than pricey face masks. Although their claims remain debatable, the pink liquid does contain salicylic acid, an ingredient found in many popular acne treatments.

Use Saran Wrap to remove water weight. Some women wrap their bodies in plastic to increase their body temperature and sweat away a few ounces, but they gain it all back after their next drink.

Put toothpaste on a pimple to make it disappear. There's no evidence that toothpaste can shrink or eliminate blemishes. In fact, it may cause more harm than good, since several of its ingredients may irritate skin and make breakouts worse.

Turn back time with baby foreskin creams. Some women go to extreme lengths to turn back the clock, like slathering their skin with $150 creams made from baby foreskins. Devotees, including Oprah Winfrey and Barbara Walters, say these formulas are like a virtual face-lift, but there's still no clinical research to support their claims.

Use Elmer's Glue to remove blackheads. It's simple, in theory: Coat your face with a thin layer of adhesive, let dry, and peel off.Elmer's isn't an ideal solution, since it removes the skin's outer layer without replenishing it with blackhead-fighting ingredients.

Use a vacuum cleaner attachment to plump lips. Believe it or not, some women have actually resorted to their vacuum cleaner attachments in an effort to achieve a temporarily plumper pout. Be warned: The risks of achieving fleeting fullness via Hoover may include bruising, discoloration, and broken blood vessels.

Scrub your face with kitty litter. Fans of kitty-litter exfoliation claim the substance is basically clay, but bear in mind that clay represents only a certain percentage of the mix. Most of the formulas on store shelves contain a host of odor-controlling chemicals that could be harmful for skin.

Rub used coffee grounds on cellulite. It might be tempting to think you can smooth dimpled thighs with friction, this is a myth. The caffeine may also sound promising (it's the "active ingredient" in most anti-cellulite creams), there's still no independent research that proves caffeine actually reduces cellulite.

Hang upside down to make your hair grow faster. Are they serious? Sadly, yes, more than a few women have resorted to hanging upside down in an effort to grow long, flowing tresses. Not surprisingly, they're wasting their time: Gravity doesn't make hair grow any faster.

Soothe puffy eyes with Preparation H. Fans of this method claim that the hemorrhoidal formula reduces undereye baggage by temporarily restricting the blood vessels. What's more, if you accidentally get Prep H in your eye, it could result in permanent damage.

    Scariest Modern Health Risks

From famines and floods to wars and pandemics, the world has always been a dangerous place. But these days, the very innovations we rely on for modern convenience may be ruining our health. Is your cell phone or iPod making you sick? Could your deodorant, antibiotics, or bottled water be toxic?

Computers. Sending the occasional email is unlikely to cause health problems, but people who work with computers every day may confront a host of occupational hazards, including eye strain (thanks to the monitor); carpel tunnel syndrome (a side effect of the mouse); and pain in the lower back, knees, or shoulders (due to that less-than-ergonomic chair). In addition, the sedentary nature of white-collar work--not to mention late hours and the office vending machine--can increase your obesity risk.

Cell phones. Scientists have long speculated that mobile phones may cause cancer, and some studies suggest they may be right. In 2008, frequent cell-phone users were 50 percent more likely to suffer from tumors of the salivary gland than the general population, while another revealed that people who used cellular devices for at least 10 years had an increased risk of developing rare brain tumors. In addition, cell phone use has been linked to sleep disorders and chronic headaches.

iPods. Although the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently gave MP3s a clean bill of health for not interfering with pacemakers, audiologists warn that avid users may be at risk for hearing loss. A 2006 study found that those who listened to the gadgets on full blast for only five minutes could suffer permanent hearing damage. What's more, lab tests conducted by Center for Environmental Health concluded that iPod headphone cords contained high levels of phthalates, a dangerous substance that may hinder sexual development.

Antibiotics. Over the past half-century, scientists have developed more than 150 varieties of antibiotics. But our overreliance on them is resulting in antibiotic resistance--a widespread issue that, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, is "one of the world's most pressing public health problems." Since some bacteria that antibiotics used to easily eliminate are becoming resistant, certain ailments, such as pneumonia, meningitis, and ear and sinus infections, are becoming harder to treat. Even more frightening is the emergence of superbugs--antibiotic-resistant staph infections, including MRSA, that can be life-threatening.

Plastic bottles. At this point, plastic bottles are so ubiquitous that it's hard to imagine they could be toxic. But many are made with bisphenol A (BPA)--a chemical that has been linked to cancer, the National Institutes of Health recently announced. A new report by the U.S. National Toxicology Program also revealed that BPA may cause behavioral changes in infants and children, and trigger the early onset of puberty in females. Although further investigation is needed, several large retailers, such as Wal-Mart and CVS, have started pulling these containers from store shelves.

Nail polish. It may look benign, but some brands of nail lacquer (not to mention sunscreen and hair spray) contain dibutyl phthalate (DBP). Although the chemical improves the staying power of polish, DBP has been linked to cancer in lab animals and to reproductive impairments in boys who have been exposed in utero. In response to increasing pressure from consumer watchdog groups, top-selling brands like Avon, Estee Lauder, Revlon, and L'Oreal have already begun removing DBP from their products.

SUVs. Sport utility vehicles continue to be hugely popular, but these car/van hybrids may be too dangerous to drive. According to experts, their high center of gravity makes them prone to roll over in accidents, their oversize dimensions make them more liable to kill other people in standard cars struck by them, and their roofs are more likely to be crushed in a rollover. What's more, these gas-guzzlers contribute to CO2 pollution and global warming, which comes with a laundry list of additional health risks.

    What Would You do?

What would you do if you see a bunch of teenager making fun with someone who is slow and cannot depend his/her self? Would you stop and try to stop it? Or would you just walk away and let them continue what they are trying to do with the other person?

If you ask me! I would get into it and try to stop the none sense. I think making fun of other is very cruel thing to do. No matter what the person look like. You should treat them equal like you treat your self. Of course every person are different. Some people just walk away from the scene. Some people will stop and make them stop for what they are doing. " You should treat other well no matter gender, raise or country they from". That's what we supposed to do, atleast that is how i feel. I don't know about you. To care not to make fun.
