Spring Cleaning
I know it's not spring but hear me out oK?! Spring is a season of new beginnings—a time to open your windows and let the fresh air in. But for many people, spring can be a season of sneezing, wheezing, and watery eyes.
As the days get warmer, follow these tips to allergy-proof your home:
Beat mold and mildew: Damp environments can be a breeding ground for mold and mildew. To remove them, scrub underneath your refrigerator, thoroughly clean your bathroom, and throw away that old shower curtain.
Beware your bedding: It's a scary thought, but dust mites may be found in up to 90 percent of American beds. Be sure to change and wash your bedding often in very hot water to keep bed bugs at bay.
Kill creepy critters: Dust mites may also be hiding in your carpets and upholstery, so be sure to clean them frequently. In addition, dust all of your surfaces, even hard-to-reach ones, with a vacuum attachment or electrostatically charged cloth.
